  • In regards to diplomacy:

In some instances, one country may not approve the formation of another country because of the principles or people that are forming that other country.  For example, China does not accept that Taiwan is a country because Taiwan isn’t communist.

However, this is phrased quite differently in diplomatic jargon.  It would be stated that China does not “recognize” Taiwan.

    Recognize?

Why do they say that?  I can picture it now.  The Chinese officials bump into the Taiwanese officials at the U.N. meeting and immediately all gain confused stares.  Next, the Chinese officials would begin inquiring, “Is that you … Japan? Or … Cambodia? Have you gained weight? New glasses?”

To this the Taiwanese officials would vehemently respond, “It’s us! Taiwan!”

    China retorts, “Have we met?”

There should be a better system than that.  Perhaps they should say China does not “listen” to Taiwan.  Then at the U.N. meeting whenever it is Taiwan’s turn to talk all the Chinese officials can put on headphones and begin jamming to William Hung.

However, I do not think my idea will work seeing as that China, along with many other countries, have not yet recognized Mendoland as a country. Sigh.

    Goodbye!
