  • In regards to diplomacy:

In some instances, one country may not approve the formation of another country because of the principles or people that are forming that other country.  For example, China does not accept that Taiwan is a country because Taiwan isn’t communist.

However, this is phrased quite differently in diplomatic jargon.  It would be stated that China does not “recognize” Taiwan.

    Recognize?

Why do they say that?  I can picture it now.  The Chinese officials bump into the Taiwanese officials at the U.N. meeting and immediately all gain confused stares.  Next, the Chinese officials would begin inquiring, “Is that you … Japan? Or … Cambodia? Have you gained weight? New glasses?”

To this the Taiwanese officials would vehemently respond, “It’s us! Taiwan!”

    China retorts, “Have we met?”

There should be a better system than that.  Perhaps they should say China does not “listen” to Taiwan.  Then at the U.N. meeting whenever it is Taiwan’s turn to talk all the Chinese officials can put on headphones and begin jamming to William Hung.

However, I do not think my idea will work seeing as that China, along with many other countries, have not yet recognized Mendoland as a country. Sigh.

    Goodbye!

  • That would be funny if a conversation liek that happened, cause they didn’t “recognize” them.
    ALso I like Menoland.

  • Man. Indeed sir, I love reading your entries.. Random, mind boggling posts!  What’s the next post going to be about Phil??

  • are you sure if they are chinese or japanese?

  • well Phil, I personally think the recognition system works quite well.  It’s a good excuse when you forget someones name, like o I don’t recognize your country so I can’t say your name. ha.

  • another interesting post, xanga friend.  long time, no talk. : (  i’ve missed the comments from the person whom I’ve never met.

  • then they might go to a “you should know me. I have really big guns!”
And China would be like, “No i shouldn’t. I have bigger guns than you.”
and after a while someone would slip and the world would be short two countries… well a country and a mythical thing (poor little taiwan… never had chance) :)

On the plus to that travesty… if the craters were close enough to each other and there wasn’t too much radiation in them… we would have a lot of swimming pools

  • I recognize that there is a distinct surge of control that goes to my head when I utterly deny a blatantly existing reality.

I refuse recognize Richard Gere as a human being.

    Wow, that felt good.

Excellent post. I recognize the immediate improvement this insight made on my life.

  • Oh yeah, delayed response to a previous question: Yes, I know Bree. I greeted her yesterday. And all was cheerful.

Our mutual acquaintance with Bree is yet another testament to the fascinating ”Seven Degrees of Separation” theory, an idea which I believe more steadfastly with the turn of every season. Toodles, my cleverly insightful friend.

  • i have a wonderful idea!

you should copy and paste this into a myspace blog!
