Welcome, welcome!
There is a road nearby my city that has a instance where it curves slightly to one way, and the speed limit for cars is dramatically reduced from 35 MPH regularly to 15 MPH during the curve. My wonder about the issue is whether a police officer would give you a speeding ticket for driving too fast on the curve, realizing that you could probably safely drive on it at 50 MPH and it is only about 30 meters long.
Most people would like to see what it would be like to live in the future. But what I realize more and more is that if you study history in detail enough, you feel like you are living in the future.
The night approaches. Rather than walking casually towards me as a friend, it chases me down like a giant bowling ball on a downhill. How come the days waste away like paper in a fire? Where do they go anyways? Did I live today just so it could become a part of history? Will I even remember what I did on this particular day ever again? Just as water evaporates into the air, so the days evaporate into history. And just as I cannot comprehend the presence of invisible gas everywhere, so I cannot comprehend the mystery of the disappearing day, a day spent doing nothing in specific amount, a day never remembered again, but twenty-four hours spent as a value of time to simply exist, rather than to act.
“Be very careful, then, how you live — not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.”
– The Apostle PaulThe days are evil, my friends.
What did you do today?

i dont think i know who this is.
and why does time go by faster as one gets older?
In “Dangerous Wonder” (a book I read this past spring), one illustration was about a man who filled a jar with marbles – the number of which were the number of days between his age and age 66 (I think). Each day he would remove a marble, and reflect on what he had done during the day. The idea was watching his life (based on average expectancy) going by and trying his best to make each day count, keeping in mind each day how few days one really has. Of course, there was no guarantee he would love that many days – just a visual illustration to keep the shortness of days in mind.
i absolutely love reading ur entries. and that part about the days. i ponder on that subject as well. but i cant get over how colorful ur writing style is. do u do any creative writing?
Phil I feel the need to point out to you that many, if not most, evil activities, especially at the teen age stage in life, occur at night. and today (assuming that since you wrote this Saturday I can answer about what I did Saturday) I went to Easton with my gran and my cousin, shopped, ate food, made a teddy bear, and spent excellent quality time together. I don’t think that is too evil. However, last night I went to St. Brendans festival…yes I think we all know where this is going.
Very nice. Very nicely said.
you can say that again.
and speaking of days slipping away, i laid down for a nap at 4:30 this afternoon, and woke to my cell phone ringing. i asked the caller what time it was, thinking maybe 9p.m. since it was dark, but no, it was in fact midnight. so now i’m up for the rest of the evening(morning?) i’m sure.
My foot hurts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
just kidding, It doesn’t hurt that much unless I step on it.
o know i didnt mean as a class, i just meant for fun. but thank u for that uplifting comment. it is true wat u said. i just get piky on myself at times.
I have Descarte’s “Discourse on Method”, but I haven’t read it yet. Nice quote by St.Paul! I wouldn’t know it since I don’t read the bible frequently…
Thanks for the laugh. I’ll have to remember that one.
this is true. but i feel so alone. not that i mind being alone, but the sense i get for really being alone, and not having the option of having company, doesnt completely appeal to me.
but i would say nighttime is my favorite time. when shared with friends and a good meal.
Thanks for stopping by. Nice site you have here.
Phil Jacob made me listen to this guy, Mat Kearney, and his cd is quite good. I think you would like it. just thought I’d let you know, you might have already heard of him! lol
I took my children to the fair.
